Policy: Protection of Personal Information

Novaport Management Services Inc. is committed to protecting personal information about our clients, employees and contractors. Our goals are to provide the highest quality of services and the highest level of integrity in dealing with others.

We will only collect, store, use, and disclose personal information as needed in our business relationships. We will inform the individual from whom the information is being collected of our purpose and ensure they have consented to its use, storage, and/or disclosure for this purpose.

Definitions
Personal information is any information about an identifiable individual and includes:
Age, sex, marital status, race, nationality, ethnic origin and religious or political beliefs
Credit card information.  Information regarding the individual’s behavior such as product purchasing history and Internet browsing logs. Personal information excludes business contact information:
Title, business telephone and fax numbers, street address, and e-mail addresses.  Any inquiries or concerns with regard to the personal information we have about individuals or about the application of this policy should be directed to Peter Van Giesen, our company President at email: pnvangiesen@novaport.ca. We make every reasonable effort to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the personal information we collect, use, and disclose. Whenever possible, we collect it from the individual to whom it pertains. Individuals wishing to access and/or correct the personal information we have about them should contact us at the above referenced number or e-mail address.  We do not use personal information or disclose it to third parties unless we have the informed consent of the individual to whom it pertains. It is only disclosed to third parties where such disclosure is necessary for us to provide services to our client. Individuals who have given consent have the right to withdraw that consent at any time on giving us written or oral notice.  We protect the personal information in our custody and control with safeguards appropriate to its sensitivity. Employee/Subcontractor information. Includes personal information about an individual that we collect, use or disclose solely for purposes related to establishing, maintaining or terminating either the employment or the subcontract arrangement.  When collecting such information, we identify the purpose for which the information is being collected, used, and disclosed and, when necessary, obtain consent.

Resumes:Unsolicited resumes: Are destroyed when received without being reviewed.

Solicited resumes: When received, these are evaluated, acted upon and stored for twelve months from the date of receipt.
